Hi, I'm Danny Coleman, President of Pelican Building Contracting, Inc. I started Pelican Building in July of 1993. I attended Lynchburg College for several years before quickly realizing that I had a love for woodworking and working with my hands like my father before me. I entered the carpentry field of work in 1977 and never looked back. People often ask "why the name Pelican"? The reason is simple, the rugby club I played for at the time was the Pelican Rugby Football Club in St. Pete. It just seemed so natural at the time so 30+ years later, here we are!
We hold a Florida Class "A" contractors license and perform some negotiated General Contracting project, though we are primarily a carpentry sub-contractor. We offer our customers wood framing labor, lumber and trusses, siding & cornice, exterior decks, interior doors & hardware, interior trim base, chair rail, & crown, and much more. All projects are offered as "turnkey" or a combination of labor & materials.
I look forward to working with and growing our community here in Tampa Bay!
In an effort to better the community Pelican Building is involved in a number of philanthropic endeavors. We have partnered with Hillsborough Community College (HCC) and The Associated Builders & Contractors Gulf Coast Chapter as Carpentry Instructors as well as sponsors for it's apprenticeship program. Employees of Pelican Building that wish to enroll in the program are fully sponsored while maintaining our company's standard of excellence. If you are interested in the program please reach our to HCC or the ABC Gulf Coast Chapter.
Additionally PBCI is the Title Sponsor for Tampa Bay Krewe Women's Rugby Club and a Lifetime Member of Bay Area Pelicans Rugby Football Club. We are committed to growing the sport of Rugby both for the Men and Women in the Tampa Bay Area.
